Signal Bot Key Concepts

Alert

A signal in the user's TradingView account that sends messages from a user-selected chart with a user-defined timeframe based on user-selected conditions or events.

Alert condition

A 'condition' is an event that occurs on the source side and is set by the user as a trigger for the alert. An alert can have multiple conditions with different events, each aimed at triggering different actions by the bot.

Webhook url

The link that the user needs to copy from 3Commas and add to the settings of the created alert.

JSON message

The text transmitted from TradingView to 3Commas which contains the necessary parameters for the bot to perform actions.

Smart Trade

Smart Trades can also be managed by Signal Bot.

Signal Sources

TV chart

A chart directly in the TradingView user interface, not the 3Commas interface.

A TradingView chart can be a signal source, with triggers being events related to price changes. To use this, the trader doesn't need to add an indicator. It's enough to select the chart for the pair of interest and set the timeframe. In the alert menu, a list of triggers for sending signals will be available.

Indicator

A TradingView indicator of the Study class. Users can create it themselves or choose from the TradingView indicator catalog. By adding an indicator to the chart, it can be selected as a condition for a signal in the alert settings. The indicator may have default trigger options or custom ones added by the user in the code through 'alertcondition' inputs.

Differences from indicators of the Strategy class

Indicators of the 'Study' class do not have a strategy settings menu and cannot be used for native backtesting in TradingView Strategy Tester. 'Study' class indicators cannot calculate order size based on previous actions.

Strategy

A TradingView indicator of the 'Strategy' class. Users can create it themselves or choose from the TradingView indicator catalog. By adding an indicator to the chart, it can be selected as a condition for a signal in the alert settings. The indicator may have default trigger options or custom ones added by the user in the code through 'Strategy events' inputs.

Differences from indicators of the 'Study' class

Indicators of the 'Strategy' class have a strategy parameters menu, can be backtested in the native TradingView Strategy Tester, and are capable of performing calculations to determine order size based on previous actions according to parameters defined in the strategy.

General settings

Here you can quickly select the exchange you want to trade on, which pairs you want to trade, max position, leverage, and initial margin.

Reversal

Signal Bot can bot can reverse your signal, which previously had to be done manually. Initiate hedge mode by setting simultaneous Long and Short positions.

Signal filters

Unique to 3Commas, you can filter signals based on the needed change in price (changing deviation and average entry price deviation). With this filter you can mitigate some risk and be sure your signal adheres to your strategy by only working for the price conditions you set.

Bot dashboard

With 3Commas, you can create complex, smart strategies in TradingView, and then scale them up immediately with a few clicks using 3Commas multi-pair bots that monitor many different coin markets to execute the deals most closely matching your strategy conditions.

With Signal Bot you get control. When the time is right, your bot will ask you to confirm the signal via email to start the bot, and you can also launch it from your 3Commas dashboard.
